It's been a rainy week here in Charm City, but the Storm Clouds should lift this weekend. Enjoy the last few rays of summer with these cool events around Baltimore.


Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore

Houston Astros @ Baltimore Orioles, Orioles Park at Camden Yards

This hasn’t been the greatest season for the Birds, however the Ravens are out of town, tickets are cheap, the World Champion Houston Astros are in town, and there are three awesome giveaways this weekend.

  • Friday September 28th - Orioles Coaster Set - First 20,000 fans 15 and Older

    • For fans 21 and Over, Friday also marks O’stoberfest, a pre-game party package. The $75 ticket gets you a seat in the left field lower box, and a 22. Oz Limited Edition Orioles Beer Stein.

  • Saturday, September 29th - Orioles Puffy Vest - First 35,000 fans 15 and Older

  • Sunday, September 30th - Oriole Duffle Bag - First 20,000 fans 15 and Older

Formal Event

Howard County Hops and Harvest Festival

When: Saturday, September 29th, 2018, 12:00PM to 9 PM

Where: Columbia Lakefront, 10275 Wincopin Cir Columbia, 21044

What: Food, Music, Games, Art, and most importantly, over 75 Varieties of Beer, Wine, and Spirits! This family friendly event features two sessions, between 12 - 4 and 5-9, and both sessions run $40 each, with discounts for Designated Drivers ($15) and Kids ($10). The weather looks perfect on Saturday, so don’t miss your chance to try the latest craft beers from Maryland’s top vendors.


2nd Annual Patterson Park Brew Fest

When: Saturday, September 29th, 11 AM - 7PM

Where: Pagoda Hill, Patterson Park, 27 S Patterson Park Ave, Baltimore, MD 21231

What:  If traveling out to Columbia isn’t your speed, there is another Brew Fest hosted by the Friends of Patterson Park, featuring over 40+ local beers, food, family friendly activities, and Musical Acts Charm City Junction and Cara Kelly and the Tell Tale. Tickets range between $15 and $65, and kids 16 and Under get in for free!


Baltimore Book Festival

When: Friday September 28th - Sunday September 30th, 11AM - 7PM

Where: Baltimore Inner Harbor, 561 Light Street, Baltimore MD 21202

What: Nothing signals the start of Autumn in the "City that Reads" like the Baltimore Book Festival. Hundreds of authors and booksellers, Thousands of books, and a wide array of activities from workshops, to panel discussions, to live music and children's entertainment.


Baltimore Japan Art Festival

When: Friday, September 28th - Saturday September 29th 2018

Where: MICA – Brown Center, 1301 West Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217

What: This annual event features a wide variety of Japanese Food, Film, Music, and Art, to “provide a platform for Japanese artists and cultural-experts to expand American audiences' perceptions of Japan.” There is a guest lecture from illustrator Yasuke Nakamura, a short film festival featuring Japanese and Japanese American directors, and an all ages festival called Aki Matsuri at the YNot Lot (North Ave, Charles Street).

The National w/ Cat Power

When: Friday, September 28th, 2018, Gates: 5PM, Show 7PM

Where: Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Columbia, MD 21044

What: Indie rock gods The National return to Maryland fresh off a Grammy win for their album Sleep Well Beast. They’re joined by Cat Power, who is stepping back in the limelight with her first album in five years, Wanderer. This all ages show’s tickets range between $46 and $75.

Southwest Palooza

What: This bi-annual free event from the Southwest Partnership includes Free Food, Music, Raffles, Games, a Moon Bounce, and an opportunity to find out what’s happening in Southwest Baltimore, and how you can help!
